Portsmouth Coach Trip

Currently, there are 7 spare seats available on the 46-seater coach for our trip to Portsmouth on 28 November 2015. If there is sufficient demand, there are slightly larger coaches available (50/51) but they are getting booked up quickly.

If you would like your name/s added to the list, please let Sandy or Kaj know as soon as possible.  Places can be reserved with a £5.00 deposit, Sandy will not be at the 30 July practice session, but Mary can accept the deposit in a sealed envelope with your name and contact details.

It’s nearly Christmas …

Well, not exactly – but it is time to start sorting out HUG’s Christmas repertoire for 2015 and bring in some new seasonal songs.  Kaj would like a couple of volunteers to help him put a list together that we can try out at practice sessions later in the year.

Coach Trip to Portsmouth

Another coach trip is proposed on Saturday 28th November to Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard which will include their Victorian Festival of Christmas.

It’s a ticketed event, group prices would be £13 for adults, £12.50 for seniors (over 60s). This will give access to all of the dockyard’s usual attractions, Mary Rose, HMS Victory, Workshops, Museums etc etc.

This is the 16th year of the Victorian Festival, which includes their largest ever Christmas Market for gifts/crafts/food and ‘A Wonderland of Victorian Characters and Entertainment’. It has very good reviews on Trip Advisor.

If we fill a 33 seater coach, it will cost £15 a seat. If we fill a 46 seater coach, it will be £12 a seat. A provisional booking has been made for a coach, but they get booked up very quickly so £5 deposit per seat will be required as soon as possible . Sandy will start taking names & deposits at HUG on Thursday 16 July. Balance of coach seat money plus dockyard ticket money can be collected later.

We could meet up for dinner before the coach journey home, but that’s still a work in progress, so more details later.
